Buffer tanks in stainless steel or coated steel

The finishing options of the samples buffer tanks   are:

  • Externally shot-blasted and painted
  • Internally and externally hot-dip galvanized or galvanized EN1461
  • Externally laminated, with an extremely resistant PE lining
  • External HTPER - High Temperature Polyester powder coating 180°C
  • Internally provided with two-component epoxy coating (from Ø900), choice depending on the application
  • Stainless steel 304-316L

The buffer vessels for sanitary applications are built from stainless steel Stainless steel 316 L.  These stainless steel  pressure tanks for domestic hot water (SWW) are fully pickled and passivated / 2-B finish.

We are also able to insulate the buffer tanks with:

  • Vapor-tight Armaflex insulation, with or without aluminum cladding (Stucco)
  • Insulation made of soft polyurethane (PUR), finished with a removable PVC cover with zipper.
  • Glass wool or Rockwool, with stucco aluminum.
  • Insulation mats, filled  with glass wool, easily removable.

The right insulation depends on the environment, setup and desired energy efficiency. That is why we equip buffer tanks with a custom insulation solution, such as:

  • Armaflex
  • PUR with PVC sheath
  • glass wool or Rockwool with aluminum finish
  • removable insulation mats

Balance bottles

Lorivan  also builds balance vessels for heating and cooling systems, according to the customer's requirements and dimensions. They help solve pressure and flow problems, separate hydraulic circuits from one another and can simultaneously function as an air vent or dirt separator.

F. A. Q. About buffer tanks

What is the difference between a buffer tank and an expansion vessel?

A buffer tank is used to temporarily store energy or volume and to stabilize the operation of the system. An expansion vessel accommodates volume changes caused by temperature fluctuations.

Can I choose between stainless steel and coated steel?

Yes. We will look together at which material choice best suits the medium, the environment and the technical requirements.

How big should my buffer tank be?

That depends on the application, the flow rate, the installation, and the desired buffering effect. We are happy to help you with the correct sizing.

Is every tank PED-compliant?

Where required, we build in accordance with the PED directive and align the execution with the applicable standards.

Can I place a buffer tank outside?

Yes, provided the right choice of materials, finish and insulation. We would be happy to advise you on that.
